The driver was identified as Lonnie Bradford, 45, of Auburn, who told officers he was in possession of a firearm. He then refused to exit the vehicle, and a struggle ensued that led to his removal from the vehicle.聽
After Bradford was taken into custody, the department said, officers recovered a loaded handgun from the driver's side of the vehicle and later discovered it was stolen from out of state.
Bradford was charged with second- and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (Class C and D felonies), fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property (a Class E felony) and resisting arrest (a Class A misdemeanor), and issued two uniform traffic tickets. He was then transported to Auburn City Court for arraignment.聽
